As a Foster Carer with PACFS, you’ll be part of a dedicated team of professionals committed to protecting the well-being of children, young people, and parents with young babies. Your role will be essential in ensuring that every child in your care feels safe, supported, and valued.
At PACFS, we take pride in offering one of the most comprehensive benefits and support packages available for foster carers. In return, we uphold high standards and expectations to ensure the best outcomes for children.
To join our fostering community, you must:
Provide a safe and secure home for a child.
Have a spare bedroom available (unless fostering siblings under a specific age).
Attend important meetings regarding the child’s care, such as LAC Reviews and PEP meetings.
Commit to working in line with the child’s Care Plan.
Support and uphold the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Work in partnership with birth parents where appropriate.
Participate in ongoing training and attend support groups regularly.
Involve the young person in decisions that affect their life.
Treat the child as a valued member of your family.
Use positive, non-punitive discipline—corporal punishment is strictly prohibited.
Keep detailed and accurate records of events concerning the child.
Engage in regular home visits and supervision with your allocated Supervising Social Worker.
Prioritize the child’s safety and well-being, reporting concerns to the appropriate professionals.
Support therapeutic interventions when arranged, including transporting the child to therapy sessions.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all information related to the children in your care.
Becoming a foster carer is a rewarding and life-changing experience—not just for the child, but for you as well. If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!
